Dinner here was a blast from the past. Old school dining room with big comfy booths and an ultra dim ambience.
The menu is fairly continental cuisine. The portions are quite substantial and the prices reasonable. The entrees included a very nice starter salad. They feature prime rib and steaks but we all ordered from the seafood side. I had mussels in a tomato based sauce. They were decent, I thought that the sauce was very nice. Sometimes sauces can be oily, which really turns me off.
The others had the fisherman's platter- which had a sole fillet, large shrimp and scallops served with rice and some nice vegetables, and "stuffed salmon" with goat cheese and asparagus. The fisherman's platter looked good and everything was nicely prepared. The stuffed salmon was good but nothing as described on the menu. It was nice portion of salmon with a fairly large blob of goat cheese and sauteed spinach on top. None of us twigged to the substitution of spinach for asparagus until after dinner. Not a huge deal for us but it could be if you dislike spinach. Regardless, it wasn't "stuffed salmon".
Service was efficient and polite.
Overall, we enjoyed our meal at The Rose Bowl.

For our group of 8 they booked us a special private dining room that had its own fireplace and chandelier! Actually quite lovely. The whole restaurant (they have been around since '77) has been totally modernized with new booths, lighting, decor, and now has a nice chic hip feel with loungey jazz music.
The Dinner menu was very diverse offering of course Steak in many varieties as well as an assortment of chicken dishes, rack of lamb, salmon, and lobster ravioli to mention a few! Everything that came to our table looked and smelled great although not sure exactly what steaks everyone ordered.
Entrees are priced 25-40 + 5$ to add a side to the steaks, most other mains include a side. They make a great Cosmopolitan as well and the winelist had plenty of palatable bottles in line with local pricing.
I had the chicken marsala that came with an option of mash or fettucine alfredo - I asked the server which was better and she recommended the pasta as "sauce was made fresh to order" and it did not disappoint. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the mushrooms were wonderfully flavourful.
w.c. had the 7 oz. filet mignon with duck fat fries. The fries were epic. They came with a nice mayo based dip. The filet was perfectly cooked and the onside veg was nice as well with a very light garlic butter and pepper seasoning.
Our Bday amigo had the seared salmon (undercooked slightly by request) and was quite pleased with it although the rice seemed a little plain.
Our Server(s) were wonderful and went above and beyond to help with the special needs of our group which just really made the night. I will def consider returning for a group function!
