Foods from Malone's Lakeside

Bad, bad restaurant. Which is a shame, cause the location is so nice.

The smoked meat was dry as a bone. I have yet to have a decent smoked meat in this city but this was by far the worst. It had been completely drained of any semblance of juice. The bread is not rye, but rather white bread in the familiar ovoid shape that rye usually comes in.

The fries were frozen mush variety. The salad wilted with some shredded carrots and an uninspired balsamic-oil (not olive oil) dressing.

My girlfriend's wrap was soggy.

The worst part was the waiter trying to convince my girlfriend that there was booze in the tropical drink she ordered (there wasn't a drop of alcohol in there). He brings it back and needing to have the last word tells us this is now a 3oz alcohol drink. Rather, it tasted as is should have in the beginning.

The bartender puts up a row of Oasis juice cartons on his shelf the way a proud barman adorns his bar with Veuve-Clicquot or Glenlivet. Unabashedly displaying shortcuts, and bad ones at that.

This is the first time I've been here since Easter 2010. The food and service were so-so then. This time is was not nearly good enough to warrant future returns.
