I had dinner here with my girlfriend last weekend. I read good comments on Ambiente on many websites. I agree that Ambiente is a very nice restaurant. The decor is very modern. The menu is focused on seasonal dishes. It's focused on Canadian terroir but there's an Italian influence. Many appetizers feature homemade pastas. Wine list has only Canadian and Italian wines.
At first our waitress served us a delicious bean soup in a small cup.
I had aaa alberta beef striploin served with onion tart, phoenix oysters mushrooms, potatoes, cracked peppercorn in Chianti jus. My beef was very tasty. My chocolate cake was decorated with banana ice cream, very interesting! My girlfriend had a pear tart tatin, baked with caramel and puff pastry, served with house made sambuca ice cream, pistachio and vanilla anglaise. To die for!
I had a good time. I recommend Ambiente.
Had dinner here with a group of 7 back in October. The atmosphere is cool and clean (although it would benefit from a bit of sound absorption). The menu is small with some interesting selections which are well prepared and presented and the service was top-notch.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal there and would considering going there again for a special occasion or when we want a special meal.
Extra note for the chestnut tagliere. I wish they offered it as a main instead of just an appetizer. It was scrumptious!
