I stopped by last week as I had a craving for goat. It was pretty good! Mildly spiced with good rice and peas. I even liked the veggies. Be careful eating the goat. I am used to it but this plate was filled with some very sharp shards of bone, tasty nonetheless.

Having grown up in Little Jamaica in Toronto, I have a bit of an affinity to Caribbean food.

I found out about these guys from their Groupon on their Facebook page. They seemed real friendly so I figure I'd drop by and give it a shot, since service at many Caribbean places can be a bit off-putting (not all, mind you. And in Ottawa, it's generally delightful).

But anyway, dropped by for some take-out (there's counter space to sit along the walls but no real tables). Staff were friendly enough. I got a large ox-tail and my girlfriend got veggie roti.

The ox-tail was rockin'. Cooked as well as I've ever had it. A nice portion (in the little spot in the take-out container plus another heaping on my rice). Rice and peas were fine. Plantains and a little cooked sliced cabbage on the side. Not quite coleslaw. :/

The roti was o-kay. I'm a chicken roti guy so I can't comment on taste (for comparison) but the size seemed big, maybe a little light on the gravy. Also, there was cabbage in it. Hopefully that is only because it was a veggie order, since I can't say I'm a fan of cabbage in my roti.

Overall, I would definitely try again. They also have a few jerk poutine combinations which sounds fun.
