Santorini has closed! This restaurant never had a real identity and the menu was always very limited and expensive. The owner has left many creditors who are still waiting to be paid. I work in the hospitality sector and I can testify that he's a very bad client. The end of his restaurant was deserved and it was only a matter of time!

Looks like the shift from Aroma-Meze to Santorini didn't save it.

Had a poor experience here yesterday. Popped in for some small plates with the family, ordered five, only got three, was unable to get the wait staff's attention to let them know, and, after repeated attempts, just decided to leave.

When we pointed out the extra items on the bill to our waitress, she kindly offered to get the kitchen to fix up the items for us for takeout, but we'd already waited too long and had to go as our kids' patience was wearing thin. I felt for her as the place was full of people and she was also having to fix drinks while the fellow who had been fixing them previously chatted up a couple at a table nearby. But when you have a small plates format, you'd better make sure people get all their food or you'll have cranky customers.

On the food front, I did enjoy the shrimp and ouzo small plate we got. The flavour of the ouzo really shone through and there was a nice contrast of sweet and savoury. The fried smelt were not as flavourful as I remember from the downtown location of Aroma, but still good with a squeeze of lemon. The meatballs on a bed of hummus were very good. The salad we'd ordered never made it, so poor kids went without veggies. I'm sure they were heartbroken.
