Cannot recommend this place. Picture is of my lunch today. Advertised as a creamy macaroni and smoked cheese casserole with a chilled watermelon soup, it disappointed on all fronts. The macaroni was not creamy or cheesy, but rather like oily cooked macaroni, topped with a bit of melted cheese. Not just bland but unpleasant and largely inedible. The chilled watermelon soup looked to be watermelon blended with yogurt and water, and it also appeared not to have been emulsified, with tiny flecks of white yogurt resisting incorporation into the watermelon puree. The soup was very watery and lacking in flavour. The price was $13.95 for this lunch special. Two of my companions each order the roasted beet salad which was a small portion of greens, heaped with different colors of roasted beets, topped with a creamy dressing. The salads were inexplicably surrounded with those technicolor taco chips in several unnaturally lurid shades. My companions pronounced the salads "OK". Service was polite, but the overall experience was very disappointing. There are not a lot of restaurants in Merrickville, but I would suggest that it's definitely worth trying one of the others should you be in town and hungry.
