I have made on premises wine in the past and have had very positive experiences. In fact, I would say that I have achieved my best DIY wine results here.
That being said, I had an unfortunate customer service experience here recently that has left a bad taste in my mouth.
Some friends and I decided we were ready to make some wine for the holiday season, so we popped on to the musca website to choose our varietals and work out how many batches we could each fit into our budgets.
We stopped in to Musca to get our batches started, and were presented with a new price list that would have added $10 to each batch. This increase actually makes their least expensive red juice less expensive than their least expensive red concentrate. I know that isn't a large amount, but it still caught us off guard and we asked to take a minute to re-do our calculations and ensure we still wanted to do the same number of batches. We were not looking for them to honour their online prices, we simply needed a second to reconsider.
The man working behind the counter, who wasn't even assisting us snapped at us and very rudely said "well it says on the website prices are subject to change without notice and I should let you know that last week we had a special that was $10 less than what the website says so it all works out in the end."
We understood that and were fine with it, but the way he spoke to us was so rude that we took a second to gather our thoughts and then left.
He also commented with something along the lines of "Oh I get it, you are just looking for the cheapest wine you can buy" which was also completely uncalled for.
We were happy to pay the increased prices, and were only asking to review the new pricelist to ensure we still wanted to make the same number of batches. His response was completely unnecessary.
He kept saying "well we have the best prices in town" as if it gave him the right to talk to us like that because we would have to pay more elsewhere.
We will be seriously reconsidering our on premises wine options before going back to Musca.
