ottawa foodies

i know i shoulnt compare anything to paris, but i cant find anywhere that makes good (with real butter) croissants! Ive heard Delice royal was suppose to be there, and ive had their croissants before, but i cant find them...

Especially good with butter and homemade strawberry jam! :-)

This stand at the Ottawa Farmer's Market is the only place in Ottawa that I know sells Zopf.

The loaf is flawlessly formed and glazed (egg wash). However, I found it to be a little dryer and a little saltier than the one I make. That's pretty easy to forgive, though, since the price for this whole loaf is only $3.50! (They call it a Butter Twist, by the way.)

(That said, if anyone from the bakery is listening here, please consider cutting the salt and baking for a slightly shorter time.)
