I visited Hendrix on the weekend during my search for a bonafide drum grater in Ottawa. All the options I've found so far have only two drums (or even just one!) and I don't see the point of having a machine like that without at least three: fine, coarse, and slice.
Anyway, long story short, they didn't have one but I just have to gush a bit over how helpful the showroom supervisor (Darcy) was. She said she'd look into it and get in touch in a couple days. Sure enough I received an email saying they couldn't source what I was looking for but oh by the way here are a few links to a two-drum grater at various Ottawa stores.
I'm always impressed when a shop has the integrity and foresight to help customers buy a product somewhere else. Karma is real and I'm now rather a fan of Hendrix!
Their showroom on Merivale is pretty tiny but they have some neat stuff. I purchased a Henckels Santoku (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santoku) knife and a bamboo cutting board here. Both were pricey and of dubious quality -- the knife gets dull much faster than my other knives and the board cracked relatively quickly. This isn't Hendrix's fault directly but why do they sell poor products?
I've learned since that Henckels is overpriced and not very good. Too bad since the knives are all over the place!
