First ever trip to the Market [General]

2008 May 17
Mr. Rock took me to the market this morning. I'd been to the Rainbow at night when we visited his family last year but I have never gotten a chance to 'market' properly.

I had a jam cookie at the French Baker that was honestly better than my Grandmother's. It was still crisp and crunchy and had REAL jam inside. I can taste convenience products a mile away and if that jam came out of a bucket I want to know the brand!

I also noticed a cook wanted sign in the window for Benny's so i hope Mousseline doesn't think I am stalking her if I drop in a resume!

I bought sausages from the sausage shop and cheese from the cheese shop and fresh produce to make a Lecho with for dinner (Hungarian stew of peppers, onions, and tomatoes with tonnes of paprika and the debrezeni sausage simmered in.

We also had a blooming onion just because I'd never had on before. It was surprisingly good for a tourist trap type of item.

Next week it is the carp market....

The jams we use are Moss jams, the same ones for sale in small jars in the front of the shop. We make the ganache for the chocolate ones.
And feel free to drop off a resume, I don't have anything to do with stuff in the Bistro. The guy to talk to is Scott Adams.
