Picanha beef from Brazil [General]

You can get it in Toronto now, but I don't know of a place in Ottawa where it can be found. I really want to try some of this stuff.

You can get an idea of what it is like from this video and the guys on this Youtube channel.

Now, that's all I want to eat. Notice that there is a salad bowl on the side with some ornamental vegetables. Note: the vegetables are purely ornamental!

I guess it doesn't have to be from Brazil, but I'm pretty sure that would be delicious, too.

Brazilian is the way to go 😳. Now I want a sous vide. And a blow torchy thing.

Picanha is sirloin cap with the fat cap left on. Just ask your butcher.

I don't think there is enough butter on there. . .

I have made churrascaria style sirloin in the past but this was far better (far butter). Sorry no pics as it did not last that long. The butcher cut the steaks into about 3/4" thick and I should have specified 1" or 1.25". I would do them a bit rarer based on my prefs but it was by far one of the more flavorful cuts of beef that I have eaten so simply.

OK some food porn. I need to feed this to someone else to get an unbiased opinion. Oh and also need to find my steak knives. This time I asked for 1.5" thick steaks. I could not finish mine but the rodents gobbled up anything left in mere seconds.

2.5 hours sous vide in butter at 55C (perfect doneness for me) with a sprinkling of steak spice. 4 quick flips on the grille over charcoal. They are a bit more rare than appears in the pic.
