@ Wheresdafood, not sure if it's better, not big on waiting in lines. I hear it can be a couple of hours at Franklin's. I will get there eventually. Had lunch at Kreuz Market today and I liked it a bit better than Black's. Pic is two jalapeņo cheddar sausages quarter pound of turkey, quarter pound brisket, beef rib and a lonely overturned pork side rib. They all do things a bit different.

I went to Austin for the day from San Antonio. I was originally planning to drive there last Monday but changed to Tuesday instead when I found out Franklin was closed on Monday.
Traffic in Austin was crazy. The last 3 miles took well over 30 minutes so I arrived at Franklin's just around 2pm. There was a sign on the door saying sold out with a very short line with only 2 briskets left so decided to gives it a try and get a beer and maybe some sides at least since I was hungry.
They did ran out of brisket and already ran out of ribs and turkey but was able to make a plate with chopped beef brisket (likely about 1 lb) and a sausage and all 3 sides. Also ordered a sour black cherry ale from Blue Owl brewery. That whole thing for $12..
The brisket may be available for sale whole and vacuum packed for $20 per pound. I was offered the last one which they said is around 4 or 5 pounds. Consider it for a minute but don't have a way to cook it easily in San Antonio and was not prepared with a cooler plus a whole brisket would be a lot to eat by yourself.
Liked the beans and coleslaw but potato salad was okay but nothing special. Sausage is good but not one I would stand in line for. I think the brisket would be excellent since the chopped beef brisket was very good. I had enough chopped beef left over for a meal the next day.

Went to the Rudy's near Seaworld in San Antonio 3 times during the week I was staying at Hyatt Wild Oak. This is 1 of the 3 originally Rudy's before the more recent franchaises.
Worked my way down the menu and my favourites are the brisket, babyback ribs and creamed corn. Honourable mention is the bbq chicken..
Pictured here are brisket, turkey and creamed corn. Forgot to take photos the first 2 times I was there.

Went to Fridericksburg for the day and ate at Otto German bistro which is the #3 rated restaurant that does farm to table stuff. A couple of the reviews are from people in Austin and they sometime make the 70 mile drive to go there for dinner.
Had bread with butter and beet jam to start followed by duck schnitzel with duck crackling, spatzel and braised red cabbage. For dessert had Cambozola cheesecake with candied pecans.
Excellent meal.

I hate you.
I really truly madly deeply hate you.
Y'know that scene in that Star Trek movie where Shatner screams KHAAAAAAAAAN really really loud and hatefully.
That much hate.
The bites make it worse because I can see that you were enjoying it so much that photography was secondary (as it should be).
I need to go on a revenge roadtrip and just post pics of empty plates with a few crumbs and gnawed bones and smears of sauce on them.

Unless you like photography and enjoy entering photo contests (I've won quite a few prizes for food pics, but have not entered anything this year).
I took a university photo class and my prof seemed to enjoy my food pictures!
I had some nice vegetable pics from the Byward Market, Stubbe cakes (I remember they took one out of their fridge to let me take pictures....).
I try not to take very long for my food pics,I do not want to be rude to people eating with me.
Actually, I find my mother and sister more rude- they always seem to text while eating out, while my phone is never out for most of the meal.
*I only have food pics from Ottawa.
But if you go on Suisha's Facebook page,I did send them a video I took of their shrimp that they cook over flaming salt at your table.
Don't think videos can load here,I will try and find a link...(for my pics at least).

Sunday night dinner from L'Ybane in New York City. Perfectly cooked medium rare lamb chops, with a nice cumin seasoning, which was amazing

Went to Jam Cafe's new location in Vancouver on my recent vacation, they are famous in Victoria and recently opened up on the mainland.
The entire menu is decadent and very creative, the whole party enjoyed their meals. Unfortunately I only have the one picture of my breakfast; the Gravy Coop:
A buttermilk biscuit topped with fried chicken, house sausage gravy and two sunny side eggs. Served with hashbrowns.
Quite possibly the best breakfast I have ever had
