ottawa foodies

Hey folks, just looking to get some ideas of food at or before a Sens game. Have a friend coming in from out of town and were hitting the game Thursday night at 7.30. Since he's from out of town I like the idea of getting there early to catch the pregame bells and whistles(there better be lasers actually). We'll be able to leave from downtown at about 4.30 so my question is, should we just bite the bullet and go to the sports bar there (overpriced, average bar food, cruddy tap list)? Or should we hit somewhere else in Kanata first? Or is there something awesome I don't even know about?

Any thoughts appreciated.

There are many choices in the Centrum - depending on what you are looking for (some fall into the same category as the sports bar @ CTC). There have been other forum topics with the same question - you can probably find your answer here already.

Personally I would try to get into the Cheshire Cat, but its always full, so you'd need to be there early.

I'd head over to the Ox Head. It's not exactly traditional pre-sports food, but it's good and won't be nearly as packed as the other places.
