That is a very interesting article. I find the same can be said for most tomatoes, including those "field" tomatoes at the area markets. They all have tough skin and bland flavour. They are no longer referenced by name - remember Bonnie Best? The only tomatoes worth buying are the heirloom tomatoes and even there, the quality and taste varies, although they are all uniformly expensive.

I think the trend for visually appealing, but tasteless, food is getting backlash :-)

People do not sample fruit at Loblaws, but I noticed in France sampling before buying is acceptable, and the food is much tastier :-)
