Looks like May 9th is the US release date. It most likely will be the Canadian date.

I was about to write this off as another 'hype' over talent, made-up-sad-story until the last few seconds involving cornstarch.

I almost fell out of my chair...

I might even pay for it before it comes out on DVD

I, for one, am very excited about this movie. It looks like it will be fantastic. An amazing, all-star cast, comedic plot and food-centric? Come ON. Perfect recipe (pun so, so intended) for success.

Nice to meet most of you today! Word on the street is that people get there pretty early for these prescreenings. I'm not sure what exactly early means, but I plan to be there an hour early and if I don't get a seat it wasn't meant to be. I'm too old to line up for hours and hours just to save ten bucks. :-)

Had a fun time watching this movie last night. It isn't a challenging or action-packed movie and some might find it too predictable but it's a fun story and there's a decent amount of food eye-candy. Nice foodie movie overall.

The theatre was quite full in the end, but I think everyone who showed up got a seat. It was great to see some of you there!

yes, agree fun movie - thanks for the tickets! I agree it was predictable in terms of the plot but like FF says great food shots. Up beat, modern, hip sort of vibe. Good if you want to watch a light happy, feel good type of movie. Just make sure you have something satisfying to eat before hand! Thanks again FF.

Thanks for the tickets FF. It was a light fun movie. You could tell the audience had a lot of industry/foodies in the audience. You could hear the reactions in the scene when the smoker was opened and the briskets are revealed.

Okay, i still haven't seen this and am awaiting vacation time to catch up on the summer movies. However, I just watched a great one with Jean Reno called Comme un chef. It was brilliant and fun, if a bit predictable. Still a fun watch.

Alright, it's December and I finally got to see Chef. The Dragonlady wasn't sure it was going to have enough story and warned me that she might ask me to turn it off.

It was GREAT! Lots of good food porn, an interesting story with a touch of family values thrown in. No violence, no nudity, no submarine races. This was just a really fun film and I'm glad to have finally seen it. We loved it.

It's an interesting way to show someone who thinks they know you just how much you really love food. That came across in a big way.

Still ... John Favreau and Sofia Vergara? I'm not seeing it.

...and Favreau with Scarlett Johanssen is waaaaay more believable
