Hey folks, I want to try my hand a root beer and was wondering whether there is an sassafras root available in town. Anyone know?

I get mine from Mother Earth on Richmond Rd. They had to order it in for me because they were out and hadn't had any orders in a while. They had sarsparilla and licorice, but were out of wintergreen and sassafras. Do not substitute other mint for the wintergreen. It makes a world of difference.

Funny enough, I just decanted a batch of root beer bitters today. I made them with Canadian rye whisky and they came out really well.

Check the Mountain Path catalogue. They used to carry it.
