Lotus Seed Paste [General]
2007 Sep 15
Market 168 on Somerset has lotus seed paste (in a clear bag ~400 grams). I was just there and saw it. The man that works the order/info table is helpful but, just in case, directions: it's on the last shelving unit in the south/east corner with other bean pastes (top shelf). They also have dried lotus seeds in bags.
And if you like edamame, this is my favourite spot to get it (Shirakiku brand). Whole in the pods or just the beans. They're in the cube freezer directly in front of the pastes.

YAY! Many thanks to everybody who suggested places. Market 168 indeed had bags of the stuff. Really cheap too. I got that and red bean and chestnut paste. I've only tasted the lotus paste and it's very good.
And if people are interested in moon cakes, the place has about 20 kinds, many without salted eggs which might be more suited to "westernized" taste buds. Prices vary form about $15 to $40 for the bigger fancier boxes.
