Good timing! Just yesterday I was looking at my pressure cooker and wondering what I could cook in it, and wondered what advantage aside from speed for lenthy cook items...

Well Bobby F, pretty much anything that requires pressure cooking is cheap, and if done properly, delicious. I'm thinking dried chick and pigeon peas, black, kidney and navy beans, beef and lamb shanks, wild rice, beef tongue, oxtail, stewing hens, ham hocks, pig tails, chicken and beef stock, etc...

You also can eliminate a lot of additives that come in canned goods...I'm not normally too diehard about this issue but I really don't want BPA in my diet.

Grains, beans and pulses, stocks, soups, sauces and stews. My mother always used one when I was growing up and she bought me one when I left home 25 years ago. It's still in regular use along with a second larger one I bought about 5 years ago. They never fell out of favour in my house.
