Thought this was interesting.

I read the article in the Citizen yesterday about the Boston Bruin's Stanley cup party where the bar tab added up to >$150,000 (see the article here: www.ottawacitizen.com)

$100,000 of that was for 1 bottle of Ace of Spades "Midas" Champagne, pictured here. (see larger picture here: outrageousluxury.com)

Loved reading about that.

Worth noting: Cattier's one of the few Champagne houses that makes 30L Champagne bottles. Maybe they call it a Midas. I dunno. Wikipedia tells me it's a "Melchizedek".

Also worth noting: "Ace of Spades" (Actually called Armand de Brignac) is the bubbly of choice for the hip-hop set, after the Louis Roederer folks complained that all this hip-hop Cristal drinking was bad for their image.

Also worth noting: Can't stop thinking of Motörhead for some reason.
