I only just discovered this is available commercially. Any Ottawa vendors? .... (preferably in the west end).

Best Price Oriental in Kanata has it.

T & T has frozen finely grated lemongrass if that is of interest.

I am curious to try the dried .... but frozen has piqued my interest as well.

It seems lemongrass is a critical ingredient for too many of those spur of the moment impulse recipes I want to try ..... and don't have fresh in our veggie drawer.

I don't know what dried lemongrass is like but the frozen stuff is great. I keep it in the freezer and just scrape out what I need. I find a lot of dried herbs don't have a lot of flavour.

For some obscure reason, it has never occurred to me to freeze it!

According to these guys .... foodprint.org .... "lemongrass freezes beautifully".

I would have to agree felinefan, the results from frozen will most likely yield better results .... (at least for the soups and stews that I am mostly interested in) ... than the dried. Thanks for the tip.
