So, this leaked over this weekend, and it is a violation of the labour code. Have any of us heard of any of the places in our fair city doing this?

According to a bit of vague-booking on Facebook by Ivan at Union 613, it does happen in Ottawa.

It happens, I'm sure of that but it's pretty rare..& unfortunately it's only been law for about 3 years..

Places like this that essentially 'steal' from their staff or don't follow the labour laws eventually get caught or they have a hard time keeping staff..in the article 2 of the people that worked there, worked there for less than 6 months, a constant rotation of new staff is never a good thing...

Most of us understand the importance of a upbeat supportive working environment, it reflects on the service & in the success, at our place we know how lucky we are to have such an amazing work family working with us & we know that without our team we wouldn't be as successful..

There are dicks out there for sure but they're not as common as some would want you to believe, it's simply not in the your best interest to be going through staff steadily, it's not good for the patrons or the business...

You can tell from staff turnover what a place is like, not just to work in, but also ultimately, how they feel about their customers. It shows in the long run.

This seems to happen to me a lot, I post stuff, and it echoes.

If the last action on this site was posting a messsage, the next time you return, a message pops up asking if you'd like to resubmit, and it then reposts if you select yes. To avoid this I typically surf away to another area of the site before leaving after posting.

Bobby, no, that doesn't happen to me, it just appears.

It only happens to a tiny subset of the users and it's an unsolved mystery. I originally had hoped it was specific to Internet Explorer but I seem to remember that wasn't the case. 😭

It's happened to me, and I use chrome, so who knows? Also, I like how much topic drift we've now had.
