Is there a bakery in town that makes a nice, moist molasses brown bread loaf? I want to make a big pot of beans later in the week and this is a must, with big slabs of butter.

Can't say I know of a place that sells it, but here's a recipe if you are interested;

Cape Breton Brown Bread

2 c boiling water poured over 1 c rolled oats
Let stand x 1 hour

Then add:
1/2 c molasses
2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp butter
1 yeast package dissolved in 1/2 c warm water with a little water

Add 5 c flour (no more no less, or you won't have CB brown bread!)
Beat well. Let rise 'til double in bulk
Beat again, spoon into 2 greased loaf pans.
Let rise again

Bake @ 375 deg x 45 min
