Taiyaki (custard filled fish) [Food/Vendor]

I was in Toronto a few weeks ago, and stopped at a place called Kevin's Taiyaki -- it's located inside the PAT market in Koreatown. They sell a fish-shaped pastry filled with red bean paste or custard (the custard is better IMO). The pastry part is kind of like a waffle but lighter and crispier.

Anyway, they're good as hell, especially when served fresh and still warm.

Does anywhere in Ottawa sell such a thing?

I have seen them at T&T. Not sure if it is year round or seasonal..

I think I've seen these on Bank south of Laurier, west side of street.

Taste Ramen had them before they closed but they were terrible.

If you're ever back in Toronto and find yourself near Galleria Supermarket, they make some good ones there (or they used to, I only visited when they were on Yonge St... both locations, haven't been since they moved to York Mills).

SushiFresh in the market (inside Lapointe) has them on the menu. Don't know anything about it so you might have to be the guinea pig on that one. :)

Looks tasty,

I have only tried a custard filled croissant from a Asian bakery. I'll have to watch out for these fish!

The only other crunchy custard filled pastries I have had are at Malak pastry-usually on weekends they make a kind of baklava shaped like a triangle that is filled with custard.
Obv it is not a fish shape or asian, but still really good.
