I'm trying to make a recipe that requires a 5lb rump roast with lots of fat.
I didn't expect this to be hard to find, but my local Loblaws and Metro had none. I tried a few other supermarkets (including a bigger Loblaws out in Kanata) -- no luck there either.
I considered going to one of those fancy butchers in the Market, but it seems silly to pay a premium for a relatively tough cut of meat -- aren't these supposed to be cheap?
Where do you folks get larger cuts of meat for braising, etc?
The Butchery is probably the easiest place to find this. You'll maybe pay a bit more than at a regular supermarket, but not as much as the premium ones downtown.
