Curious if anyone knows what has happened to the Wholesale Fish Market on Hawthorne Rd. Closed? Reno?
I would hate to see it go, it is fabulous!

I'd like to know too. It has been my favorite fish market for quite a while but all of a sudden it's been closed for almost three months now.
Lame pointe has nothing on the oysters and mussels there...

Any news on this? There website is still up and there phone is still ringing (which suggests someone is paying the bills) but there is no answer.

Are there any good fish markets in West Quebec?

Are there alternatives in the general Ottawa area to Lepointes? I have been to Pelicans and, another on Merival Rd (I think its called Merivale Fish Market) but I have found them to not offer the selection available at Lepointes.

Drove by the wholesale fish market last saturday, sadly but all the signs on their small settings have been taken away.

Their oysters were the best that Ottawa had to offer... Prove me wrong with another retailer's name if you think otherwise. I'd be glad to check it out:)

Perhaps they should have done a bit more marketing. I had never even heard of the place. Sad to hear about it now that they're gone.
