Just finished watching Big Night on tv. I haven't seen it for quite awhile and enjoyed again. I love their big feast. They serve a 7 course dinner with whole baby pig. I've always thought that would be a great evening. I may even buy a Louis Primo cd.
Made the timpano once and brought it to my inlaws while we watched the movie with them.
They are no longer here and the movie brought back some very good memories.
I think that is in the back of my mind when entertaining. Especially at the cottatge where we have more room to sit around outside. Lots of food, wine (then the homemade if the batch didn't turn out so well) and good company.
The Big Night is awesome - I have the DVD and the soundtrack :-)
Other favourites:
Tortilla Soup
Babette's Feast
Mostly Martha (not the remake 'No Reservations')
Ratatouille (the animation was outstanding!)
Woman on Top (great soundtrack too)
Soul Food
Like Water for Chocolate
