Sadly the poutine was lacking in the curd department. St Albert curds were tasty but the crumbs and small size and amount was disappointing. The gravy was seasoned properly letting the taste of the curd come through perfectly. I will order fries from here and try to ask for extra gravy and curd and see what happens. $6 for a medium lacking curds was a tad on the high side but I would gladly pay an extra two bucks for some actual curds.

The search for really good fries has resulted in an old standby just around the corner. Fries were very good a decent size cut with a nice crispy outside and body inside not the powdery tell tale frozen stuff like S&G. The oil on todays visit was new resulting in a light color and taste. This lady does a mean fry!

Agreed, hence the update.

Well ... that review was from 4 years ago. A lot can happen in that time.

I was disappointed to read this review. We have gone here many times and have always been satisfied. The fries are made with fresh cut potatoes and are crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The burgs are made with fresh ground beef purchased from Simpson's, a butcher in the small plaza where the stand is located. Further, there is no filler in the burgs. I can't speak to their poutine, but whenever I have been there, many people have ordered it. They also seem to have a loyal following as the lady who runs the place and a lot of the paying customers seem to know each other. I think they have the best fries in the city. None of those icky frozen ones here.

Gross! That's all I can say. Both me and my daughter stopped there for fries. Yes they offered the half way something. But my fry gobbling monster ate 2 fries and gave me the box and said maybe if it was poutine they would be softer. The fries seemed like they had been sitting in oil and refried several times before we got there. And this was lunch time. They were hard and chewy, very unnatural for a french fry. Definitely not stopping there again.
