Foods from Persian Cuisine Express

PCE is so close to my work and I have wanted to try for some time but never got to it until today.

Went for lunch. Was initially surprised by caf-style dining. You can get table service but we didn't know that. I kinda enjoyed getting my own food.

At tofu_burger's recommendation, I zoomed in on the lamb shank. It was delicious! Tender, fall-of-the bone, yumminess. It came with a generous serving of rice (with dill - quite nice) and some salad (fresh, nothing special). Overall it was very good. It was fresh, and reasonably priced. My friends got veggie wraps and seemed to enjoy them.

They also have takeout option which I will certainly take-up in the future.

As far as I know there are two Persian restaurants in Ottawa, Saffron and Persian Cuisine Express(Umm... I have heard some thing about some where named Boof, I have not been there yet. I heard they have Ghelyoun,... anyway, that’s a different chapter). They both have great food. For takeout I prefer Saffron because of the 'price', 'quality' of food, and the extras they put for the takeouts, and for dining I prefer the Persian Cuisine for its –as I believe– 'better environment'. However the last time I went to Persian Cuisine it was nine month ago, as I favor 'price' and 'quality' over the 'environment'. So maybe Persian Cuisine has since then brought its quality up and prices down, I don't know...

Lamb shank!!! The lamb shank in this place is amazing! It comes in this gravy that's to die for with that amazing rice with dill and lima beans. That's all I eat at this place. Try it... you won't be dissapointed. Its the only reason to go to Persian cuisine express. Other dishes are delicious but the portion of meat seem small.
