2 for 2 with Zoan after stopping today for their lunch buffet. Happily the place was busy and full of people who work in the nearby office building. You can order off the menu at lunch but we wanted to try the lunch buffet. There were 2 soups and a good selection of items on the buffet. Hot and sour soup (good!} and another soup which I didn't try; a fried rice, noodle dish, stir fry veg dish, and chicken with chinese veg and water chestnuts. Succulent honey garlic ribs, a lemon chicken, excellent fried chicken wings, spring rolls, chicken balls and red bean sesame balls. Everything I tried was good, hot, and the nice thing was that there was just enough food on the steam table so that it didn't have a chance to get cold; The staff were constantly replenishing everything. I especially loved the chicken wings and the sesame balls, but one of the best things was the surprise when the bill arrived. The lunch buffet is only $6.99 per person! Lunch buffet is only available Mon. to Fri.

Only open 4 days, and was very pleased with our dinner experience tonight. The location is a bit hard to find, in the shopping strip behind the gas station on the northwest corner of Prince of Wales and Baseline. Look for the bright green sign.

Very bright modern decor, two dining rooms divided by a bar and buffet in the center. The buffet is used only at lunch.

Since Zoan is billed firstly as a tea shop, it is no surprise that there are MANY different kinds of bubble teas, smoothies and milk teas on offer. Indeed, the first 6 or 8 pages of the menu, are devoted to listing more varieties than I have ever seen in one place. The bubble teas are made with fresh fruit and we had a black tea with lychee and black tea with taiwan plum. The plum version was tart and slightly salty and I would recommend it if you are not into the more "syrupy" bubble teas.

The last two pages of the menu are devoted to single spaced listings of "snack foods" without much description, but there were many familiar and unfamiliar things listed.

Fried tofu were about 1" cubes, served hot and crispy, but without sauce of any kind. We salted them and they were a nice way to start, but I would have preferred some kind of dipping sauce.

Hawaiian rice was a very large platter of steamed rice with bits of ham, egg and pineapple; fresh and colorful.

General Tao's chicken was slightly sweet and had a nice spicy bite, and we loved the cooked cucumbers that were in this one. Delicious.

Fried green beans were perfectly cooked, retaining both crispness and all their bright color. Warning to vegetarians - the beans were served with a healthy dollop of fried meat (beef?).

Service was friendly, but the dishes came out in a bit of a scattered fashion. Our server apologized and explained that they were having some opening pains.

Tonight we had great food, friendly service, and the bill came to $41 including taxes and tip. A welcome addition to the neighbourhood and definitely worth checking out again.
