I am planning something special for someone and am looking for suggestions of places to have lunch in Wakefield. I see that Les Fougeres is doing a valentine's day menu...how is the place?

Les Fougeres certainly has a good reputation. It's in Chelsea though, not Wakefield... Les Fougères

As for places in Wakefield, I can heartily recommend the Wakefield Mill The Wakefield Mill. I had an excellent meal there about four years ago.

i like the wakefield mill, pot au feu (in the old train station), chez eric (in a converted house) and there is a lovely cafe near solstice books. i forget the name though.
