Just wondering if there is a place locally where I can get ripe (aka red) jalapenos? Want to pickle a peck or two just like peter did.

You could try Acorn Creek Garden farm in Carp. Some of the local farms at the Parkdale market have baskets - just be sure to check the signs for 100% local producer.
