ottawa foodies

Hey all, new here- hope someone can offer some suggestions.

Looking for a restaurant that has good beef, having dinner with an old friend who's coming into town and she absolutely *loves* beef, I am completely out of touch with what Ottawa area restaurants are good/decent/ or too be avoided however.

If anyone here has any suggestions , (preferably East end, but anywhere is good really) I'd appreciate hearing them.

My favourite restaurant for beef is Ox Head (specifically, their Bò Kho). But that's pretty far from the East End.

Maybe try Rangoli Indian Cuisine in Orleans.. they would probably have a fantastic beef curry.

Al's on Elgin...classic, no surprises but what they do they do very well.

I had a great beef short rib at The Albion Rooms not too long ago.

I love the Beef Brisket at The Smoque Shaque!

Steak frites at Alium is always fantastic (and nicer ambiance) :)

Hintonburger is also a great place to get a locally sourced beef burger (good food meh enviro and service)

Get whatever is the beef special "Dan's Beef" at Murray Street kitchen

Ooo seconding Albion Room for the short rib!

The best steak I've had in the region was at l'Arome, at the Casino. So much better than Hy's ever was or Sterling in Gatineau. Added bonus: because it's a hotel restaurant, you can take your well-behaved children and nobody bats an eye.
