Where to find good merguez in Ottawa [General]

2016 Jan 19
Hi all,

I used to buy lamb merguez from the sausage kitchen for my mom which she loved but it is now closed. I tried the beef and lamb merguez from the middle eastern center and it got a pretty sad so-so review.

The other place I can think to try is maybe the one on bank street but would appreciate any leads on that, preferably low sodium if possible.

yeah I remember they had it when I was at their store in Bank street last Oct but my mom really liked the sausage kitchen ones so did not try them and went and got them at the sausage kitchen.

I think that Sasloves on Wellington has some, although I am not sure about low sodium.

Try William J. Walter at 129 St. Joseph in Hull. They have excellent sausages.

so I am not the only person that is still saying Hull ...

I'm sure you could find a version at Whole Foods, but don't buy it. Like all their sausage it likely doesn't taste all that great and will surely be poorly made.

Bank st sausage should have some.

Also maybe the Lansdowne farmer's market-they have quite a few meat vendors there.

Whole Foods US and UK has a much better selection of sausages than the Ottawa branch..
