Copy Me That [General]

I found a really interesting website / application:

CopyMeThat

It adds a toolbar button to the browser. When you are looking at a page with a recipe, you can press the button and it will copy the recipe into your personal recipe folder on the copy me that site.

I don't know how it works, but it works most of the time. Well it works on all the main sites that post recipes and even on some blogs.

I think it looks for keywords that indicate ingredients and the recipe steps.

It's a very clever piece of code.

No ads (yet), but they will sell you a bound printed recipe book of your collected recipes if you like.

Interesting! As a more generic but slightly less automatic solution, I use Evernote. It lets me cleanly capture any information from a webpage (including recipes) and stuff it into an Evernote notebook. I'm picky enough with my recipes that I like to reword/reorganize them after trying them once...

Thanks for sharing! I'm a huge fan of paperless organization of information. :)

I prefer the old stand-by 'copy and paste'
