Westport & Red Currants [General]

We recently returned from vacation spent at a cottage near Westport. It is the first time we spent time in this area and thank you to the foodies (hipfunkyfun?) we visited the bakery several times and enjoyed the butter tarts, ginger cookies and tried several pies (bumblebee being my favourite).

While in the local grocery store Kudrinko's Country Grocer, I picked up a countainer (1/2 quart maybe) of locally picked red currants.

I am sort of short on time these days since I am back at work and prefer easy things in the kitrchen (better yet BBQ) over the summer months.

Was wondering what to do with the red currants beyond the idea of jam or pie.

Does anyone know of a marrande for meat maybe?

What other ideas can you foodies come up with, please and thank you ...
