ottawa foodies

My gf and I just got back from Montreal (we went to a fun fondue restaurant called fonduementale - highly recommend it (www.fonduementale.com/). Anyway, while we were there we were at very nice SAQ, and began to wonder what the best SAQ in the Gatineau area is? So what are people's opinions.... as well, is SAQ listed in the vendor section of the site? I tried finding it but did not see it.

The best one that I know of is the one by the Casino (kitty corner to the Casino next to the plaza with the Super C supermarket).

Depends what you are looking for - if it's beer you are after then don't go to the SAQ

to sub-theme MedicineJ's timely thread (timely for me, anyway), where are some good places to buy beer in Gatineau, Zymurgist (and others)? Specifically, i'm wondering where we can find interesting Quebec microbrews, or even the Unibrue's and Belgians, that aren't available in Ottawa?

Fonduementale is a very good restaurant... i've been there twice. It's a great place to go with friends and taste different meats "fondue style" :)

As for the original question concerning the SAQ, the best one i've been to was the one by the casino, but it's nothing special.

Costco in Gatineau for beer. Selection sucks but if you want Coors Light or Corona- they've got lots and it cheap.

What do Coors Light and Corona have to do with the topic of beer?

Best place in Gatineau to buy would be la Trappe a fromage (on St-Raymond and on Bellehumeur)and Jovi (on Bégin).

L'autre Oeil on Main in Aylmer is the best beer bar in the region.
