The Greekfest starts today at 4:30 pm. I go for the food and hope to make it out a few times in the coming week. The festival runs until August 24th. We honeymooned in Greece and so I have a soft spot for this country and this festival here in Ottawa. My husband loves to get lamb that has been roasted on the spit. I usually get a souvlaki on pita. We share a tatziki and order a pita for each of us for dipping. And we usually order a Greek Salad to share. If we are dining out with others sometimes we try some of their other apps to share. It is not bargain basement pricing since this is their main fundraiser of the year. I happily go to support them and join in the vibe of great music and fun. I am stunned by the volunteer engine it must take to put this on every year. Kudos to them. Check out the lambs on the spits. Anyone else going? What are you eating?
