Smoking pellets? [General]

2014 Jun 17
Hello All
I bought one of them pellet burners (From Capital City Appliance)
to use with my BBQ for cold smoking. They used to sell a wide variety
of small packages but alas no longer. Any one know of any places
that have smoker pellets for sale?
Thanks in advance

Frank what unit did you end up getting? I would love a reasonable cost smoke generator that used cheap pellets.

Krusty
not sure what it's called. I did find out about here in this forum.
Got it from Capital City Appliance on Grenfell.
It was around 30 bucks. A square metal device with burning channels in it
for the pellets drilled with a million holes.yikes how that for a description :-

Frank you could be a man after my own heart. I have a '52 Willys P/U.

Post a pic of it if you can. I am always after cheaper smoke!

I presume that Frank is referring to the A-Maze-N-Pellet-Smoker that you can get at Capital City BBQ for about $40. I have one at home and it allows me to easily use my BGE to cold smoke. So far, I have done up some cheese, almonds and bacon.

It's pretty easy to make a smoker that produces tons of smoke.

The easiest way is with a metal trash can, a hot plate, and a biscuit tin of soaked wood chips. This setup makes a lot of smoke.
