I don't know about anyone else, but anything that comes into contact with the filter basket in my coffee maker is going to have the unmistakable taint of coffee all over it.

I've never been able to clean those things properly.

Oh wow. Love it. I haven't been on in a while . . .

I'm playing around with vac / syphon coffee pots these days.

Using fine grinds (espresso grinds) and cinnamon added, and therefore also experimenting with home made filters that won't clog on the drawdown.

I've gotten some really awesome pots of coffee though . . .

Did you know you can get a much better pot of drip coffee if you sew yourself a cloth coffee filter (use the paper one for your machine as a template). The cloth will pass the flavor oils, which the paper doesn't.

Apparently some of those oils are cholesterol raising, but who cares when the coffee is so much more sensual ? LOL.

YOLO.
