ottawa foodies

Hello all.
I love trying new BBQ recipes up at the cottage from my huge stack
of grilling/BBQ recipe books, I've collected over the years.
My biggest peeve is finding the exotic and not so exotic spices and
herbs and such. It seems I'm always running to every darn store to find
them. Is there a one stop shop for spices and such where you will find
just about everything? Ya know something like that store in the Harry Potter
movie where he bought his wand. Something like that :-)

Frank My go-to place is Market Organics in the Byward Market and what I can't find there I can usually find in Chinatown. Are there specific spices you are looking for? Maybe we can help you out better if we knew which spices you were looking for.

bulk barn

Herb & Spice shop on Bank St, or Wellington. Their spices are great quality and you can buy in small amounts.

I don't like spices at bulk barn, they are often stale.

Also there is this place. I haven't been yet, but plan to go soon. It is on Merivale.

Lots of middle eastern stores carry a LOT of spices. And cheap as heck too.

Lots of places in Chinatown too.
