OK, this will be a real longshot but what the heck.

Way back in the early 70s my brother wrote into the show to get the recipe for No Bake Cookies. My mom used to make them and they were really good - and I'd recognize the flavour but could not tell you much else about them. I recall that in my university years the cafeteria used to make something very similar from time to time.

I enjoy that they all look the same. Something invented at 2 a.m.. :)

Nope those are chocolate macaroons - they were not at all like that though made in a very similar fashion.

They were sort of toffee coloured and flavoured but had coconut and other stuff in them.
