Holiday libations.... [Booze]

About 4 - 5 years ago I decided to make some mead, though i guess you could consider it a melomel. Split half of it and added raspberry puree and the second half I added fresh sour cherries. The raspberry was drinkable from the start and it did not last long. The cherry did not do anything for me so I bottled it and left it. Every year around this time I bring a bottle to a beer tasting evening and this year it was remarkably good! We managed to drink a whole bottle between us and it was delightful to sip on.

I think it was a year later I thought it about time to make a batch of Apple Butter Cyser. Take some apple butter, honey and cider. Ferment. Add some spices and walk away for another 4 years. It was harsh for the first few years but this year has finally mellowed and is quite sippable. Much like a spiced port. Not sure how else to describe it. Need to get around to bottling it in some fancy 200 mL bottles this winter.
