Birthday Dinners? [General]

2012 Oct 20
Just wondering what y'all think is good for a birthday dinner? I am partial to things out of the ocean on the Q with an angel food cake for post dinner enjoyment. The dog requested free range chicken and rice for his 13th bday.

Whatever you like, no doubt having it served in a stainless steel bowl on the floor makes it taste even better. :)
Thank you! I'll be using this idea for my next party. Easy clean-up too.

How very refined he is. 13 year olds generally request cheesy pizza.

If we're not going out to a restaurant for dinner, I'm all over steak and/or lobster for birthdays. I cook steak all the time, but hardly ever get lobster for some reason!

Oh, and maybe a fancier wine.

And chocolate cake for dessert.

If we don't go out to a restaurant for family birthdays we usually have something thats been simmering away and is easy to serve. Favourites include beef bourgignon, chicken cacciatore, chicken paprikash, paella and goulash-with a salad, bread and a nicer wine than usual. Our one family member with a summer birthday likes bbq'd ribs. Chocolate fudge cake, applecheesecake or raspberry pie for dessert.
