Manior Saint Sauveur [General]

Does anyone have any experience with this place. We're looking to plan a foodie girl's spa weekend. Other option is Codes Mill in Perth, any info on the quality of the restaurant in each place. Other comments about spa and accommodations are welcome though it is Off topic and may be inapproprate. Pls have pitty on me, I just lost a long review I wrote and I'm peeved! :(

I have only good/great to say about Code's Mill in Perth in respect of location, rooms, spa (which is brand new and excellent) and staff but unfortunately i didn't try the restaurant (in fact i'm not sure there was one...) the diy waffles for the breakfast buffet were quite good tho'.

Perth has got a pile of good things to recommend it but the fine dining wasn't quite so fine, in the sense that we didn't find anything there that we couldn't have gotten better in Ottawa for the same/less price. Good getaway destination but not a foodie target in my never so humble opinion.

Manoir St Sauveur has the advantage of being in the Laurentians, which gives you more options in terms of dining and things to do nearbye, but of course it's farther than Perth.

I stayed at Codes Mill 2 years ago. I'd say no to Codes Mill in Perth. The hotel was in receivership then - not sure if they ever sorted it out & it showed. I found the rooms small and dull, the breakfast was continental help-yourself. Great setting and I love Perth, but I wouldn't plan a girls weekend there.

I don't know about that place. There are so many great places for a spa weekend, here are places I've been & would recommend:
St. Anne's Spa
Montebello
Wakefield Mill

The hotel was taken over by Best Western and is part of their 'Plus' line. I was there three weeks ago, no complaints.

That said, St Anne's is exceptional for spa and food, tho priced accordingly.

I'm still skeptical... I drive through Perth on the way to the cottage every week and it still looks the same. I'd say money is better spent elsewhere, though Perth is a fine place to spend a weekend in.

For Ste. Anne's, they offer last minute getaways with much lower prices. For this Friday night:
or $189: Your Last Minute Getaway Package Includes (per person, per night): Overnight accommodation, 4-course dinner, breakfast, 3-course lunch, afternoon tea, 1 group wellness class and complete use of the facilities. Spa services are available à la carte (subject to availability).

The food is amazing, but you must bring your own wine.

If you're interested in St Annes - you can bid on packages for Ste. Annes or it's sister property Dorset Manor at spalotto.com

A group of us won a cottage at Ste. Annes a couple years ago for a great price.

Food is meh, stayed at the manoir twice... Le Refuge for scandinave spa is great...you can find plenty of good restaurants on the main in st sauveur.

Not far at all, but I have had many wonderful spa and dining getaway weekends at the Hilton at the Casino Lac Leamy. The bathrooms in the executive level rooms are huge and luxurious, the views are great, and there is an elegant club lounge on the top floor that you have access to if you're on the exec level. Dinner at Baccarat or Arome or the Hilton restaurant, and the spa has a full range of luxury treatments. My favorite is the underwater Vichy massage. Indoor and outdoor pools and jacuzzis and a beautiful and well equipped fitness center too.

Sunday Brunch at l'Arome is very good, and it comes with access to the pool, which is very nice.

Or, if you prefer to get out of town, I'd suggest Le Nordik in Chelsea. Beautiful place, you feel like you are far away, yet you don't have to drive long. They offer all kinds of massages and such, but my favorite is really just doing the steam sauna/cold pool/dry sauna/warm pool... rotation for a few hours. The food is pretty good too. They do lean towards the health food, but serve a very nice chocolate fondue ;-)

Thank you all for your ideas. It looks like Saint Anne's is the ultimate place to go but with 5 people we can't really chance it to get a last minutes special (though I will keep this in mind for another time). Saint Anne's is a bit too far for one night and likely a bit beyond our price range. We've been to the Wakefield Mill for the day about 2 years ago. So hard to arrive at a decision when you have 5 views to consider. I will bring your ideas to the group. Personally, I'd would prefer to rent a chalet/condo place (preferably in the Laurentians) and go to the spa as a day trip. But I know the area a bit, for those that don't a one stop type place is much easier ... let me know if other ideas are out there, we're not going until the end of sept and may not book for another few weeks :)

If you want to stay close, you could rent out the lodge at Spa Nordik. It has 5 bedrooms, the spa is lovely & food great.
