Any tips on how to unstick the top vent on a BGE?

You mean the daisy wheel on the cast iron?

If it's stuck the way my Big Steel Keg vent gets stuck, then I'm with Zym: it'll loosen as the charcoal heats up. It'll be no problem getting it open before the fire loses its oxygen.

If that's not the problem, then I've got nothin', and apologize for wasting your time :)

Yes, the daisy wheel. Blowtorch might work...

Take it off the egg and just give it a slight tap with a hammer and it should come loose.

Or if you are going with heat, slather it up with some lard first to lube it.
