@afinekettle, good point ! I've read about it before and they grow muscle cells in a thin layer on a plate of glass by bathing them in a nutrient solution. I suppose it could be nutritionally superior to muscle from regular animals . . .

Yeah, well, mechanically separated meat is chemically identical too but I don't like the idea of eating it either

I wonder if this would solve any ethical problems for vegetarians though

i'd eat it if they can also grow artificial fat... straight protein probably doesn't taste like much.
