foodie places in the nearby Laurentides [General]

I spent a week about 2.5 hours north of Ottawa on the Baskatong Reservoir.

We ate at the Windago Restaurant a couple of times and it was very good. Definitely a foodie spot.

Last summer we visited S. Bourassa in St. Sauveur, and it's kind of a Costco style warehouse (though not as large)for foodies.

I remember being impressed by their fresh herbs, available in larger quantities than the little blister packs we typically see; Also a nice walk in fridge section with interesting cheeses and meats. In the freezer section we found squeeze bottles filled with many interesting types of ready made coulis. Interesting selection of olive oils and vinegars and the pricing IIRC was very reasonable on everything.

The IGA in nearby Mount Laurier had very fresh produce, even better than in Aylmer and Ottawa.

BTW, though I didn't spend much time there so my sample size is admittedly small, almost every person I met in Mount Laurier was trim and good looking. And friendly too. Good genes or good food, or both?
