Hardwood Countertops [General]

Ikea is out of the one we need (deeper than usual 25 inches)

Anywhere in Ottawa I can get a hardwood countertop off-the-shelf, in the next day or so?

If you're looking at stainless steel, you might even take a look at soapstone. I talked to these guys last year when I bought a good quantity of soapstone so I could make some 'whisky stones' as gifts.

This is a great material for kitchen counters because it is not affected by heat, has a nice 'soft' stone feel (it's made from 100% compressed talc) and is impermeable to liquids.

We've had ceramic (tiles) counter tops for 10 years now and we really love them.
