I tried some pastries from there and they were not as fresh and were more hard.
I've had similar middle eastern pastries at a local bakery and the thing I had that looked like a stick and had glaze on it was meltingly soft (and very good..very sugary too,lol).
Prettytastyreviews I often head over to the Byward Market Square for my weekly lunches out and Yayora is one of my favourites. I have sampled most of their fairs over the years and I would agree with snoopy loopy's recommendation of lamb. The chicken is also excellent.

How is the food here?
I've read mixed reviews.
I tried some pastries from there and they were not as fresh and were more hard.
