I haven't seen nixtamal in Ottawa, only masa seca (dried) that you could rehydrate & grind yourself. La Tiendita carries a few different brands of masa flour, talk to the owner to understand the difference between them and for which recipes they would be appropriate. Some are good for tamales, others good for pupusa, tortilla, etc. The upside is, it's cheap & plentiful so you can experiment!
